As mentioned above, the basic premise of Gartic Phone is to transmit a message — a phrase, object, topic, or sentence — to the last player. However, everyone in between has to draw the phrase instead. Additionally, there are different game modes that make the game even more challenging. From replicating given drawings in increasingly shorter times with Knock-Off to creating your animations in five frames with Solo.
Since it is a writing and drawing game, it is best played with a touch pen and a drawing tablet. However, you will find that most players play it with the mouse, resulting in some hilarious artwork that mutates even further with every passing player. As every round ends, the answers are revealed. This makes the experience even more fun as you find where the team effort went wrong.
You can also either play casually as an Anonymous player or be Authenticated by creating an account to keep your progress and let you join the online public servers. Of course, this game requires a strong and stable connection to make sure you don’t skip frames when drawing. More importantly, an intermittent connection could cause you to disconnect from the game.
